One of the last rooms in the house to get a makeover was the master bedroom. Here is what it looked like before. These photos were taken in July of 2014.
The walls were painted with some hideous yellowish orange beige paint and it made the room look small and yellow all the time. The trim was also a huge fail in the room. It was painted with the builders paint and definitely need an update. All the room really needed was a coat of paint on the walls, trim and doors and it would look a million times better. I decided to paint the walls Behr Pixel White. It’s a gray with a slight brown tint to it. For the trim I used Behr Ultra Pure White Semi Gloss.
Take a look at the doors with the Behr Ultra Pure White paint and the builder’s paint and you’ll see the impact the fresh coat of paint had.
The two end tables got a coat of white paint and a few other updates which you can see more of here.
I also spray painted the door knobs to update the hideous gold door knobs that had been there before.
upcoming projects for the master bedroom include painting and distressing the bed, updating window treatments, and replacing the bedding, but for now I think it looks 100x better than it did before. Don’t you think?
I plan to get some nice lamps for the side tables. The lamps are from Target Room Essentials Textured Ceramic Assemb. The lamp in the photo is one that Jake’s mom gave to me. I just picked up a lamp shade from Walmart for about $10. The Quilt is Cynthia Rowley and is from Home Goods.
